Voyager Showcase Louis Vuitton Unveils Women’s Prefall 2024 Collection in Shanghai

Embracing Louis Vuitton’s ethos of exploration and adventure, Nicolas Ghesquière extends his decade-long narrative of innovation and journeying with the unveiling of the Women’s Prefall 2024 collection at the Long Museum in Shanghai.

Ghesquière’s designs pay homage to his past creations while propelling Louis Vuitton forward with dynamic creativity. Collaborating with contemporary artist Sun Yitian, the inaugural Voyager Show showcased a captivating menagerie of playful animals, breathing life into flowing ensembles. The collection boldly juxtaposed contrasting elements, pairing short with long, and intertwining floral motifs with stripes and checks. Vibrant hues and whimsical motifs echoed the spirited essence of the young Chinese artist.

Accessories played a pivotal role in narrating the legacy of Louis Vuitton, celebrating the brand’s pioneering trunk-making craftsmanship. From the iconic Petite Malle to the versatile Twist and OnTheGo, each piece recounted the founder’s ingenuity. Noteworthy debuts included soft-sided iterations of the Capucine and Dauphine bags, alongside the highly anticipated Slim Trunk, enriching Louis Vuitton’s iconic repertoire with each reinvention.

Set within the elegant confines of the Long Museum, founded by collectors Wang Wei and Liu Yigqian, the event unfolded amidst China’s premier private art collection. The museum’s sleek, minimalist architecture provided a breathtaking backdrop for Ghesquière’s interpretation of the Louis Vuitton woman, seamlessly merging tradition with contemporary allure.
