UniFirst Teams Up with Charity Auction to Aid National Guard Relief Foundation

UniFirst Corporation, a leading provider of customized business uniform programs, facility service products, and first aid and safety services in North America and a proud partner of Hendrick Motorsports, is throwing its support behind the Chase Elliott Foundation’s upcoming charity auction. The auction will feature autographed racing gloves worn by the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion Chase Elliott during NASCAR’s Official Throwback Weekend at Darlington Raceway.

As part of the event, Elliott will be driving a special throwback No. 9 UniFirst Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, paying homage to Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s 2014 DAYTONA 500 victory. Completing the nostalgic ensemble, Elliott will don the iconic skeleton gloves reminiscent of the ones worn by Earnhardt Jr. during his time with the Hendrick Motorsports No. 88 National Guard Chevrolet. These gloves will be up for grabs in a charity auction hosted on the NASCAR Foundation’s eBay Account starting on Thursday, May 9, at 9 p.m. ET.

Fans will have the chance to own a piece of racing history while supporting a worthy cause, as all proceeds from the auction will benefit the National Guard Relief Foundation. UniFirst has pledged to match donations raised dollar-for-dollar, up to $25,000.

David Katz, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at UniFirst, expressed the company’s enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “At UniFirst, we are committed to making a positive impact in our communities. Partnering with Hendrick Motorsports and the Chase Elliott Foundation for this charity auction allows us to support the National Guard Relief Foundation while commemorating a significant moment in racing history. We’re eager to witness the impact of the funds raised.”

The throwback design, a joint effort between Hendrick Motorsports and UniFirst, draws inspiration from Earnhardt Jr.’s original National Guard Chevrolet, which propelled him to victory at the DAYTONA 500 a decade ago. The livery serves as a tribute to his enduring legacy and continues to resonate with racing enthusiasts, both seasoned and new.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Elliott expressed his gratitude, saying, “Dale has been instrumental in my career, and driving this No. 9 UniFirst Chevrolet holds special significance for me. Racing at Darlington is always meaningful, and this weekend’s event carries added importance as we rally behind a cause that benefits others. I’m thankful to UniFirst for their support through this auction.”

Fans can catch a glimpse of Elliott’s commemorative throwback scheme during the NASCAR Cup Series race at Darlington Raceway this Sunday, May 12, at 3 p.m. EDT, televised on FS1.
