Sensormatic & Allbirds Team Up for Precise Inventory Management from Warehouse to Store

Sensormatic Solutions, the primary global retail solutions portfolio under Johnson Controls, and Allbirds, Inc., a renowned global lifestyle brand known for its innovation in creating sustainable footwear and apparel, have jointly announced the success of their collaboration. This partnership has significantly enhanced the customer experience for Allbirds by integrating radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to ensure precise inventory accuracy.

Allbirds, committed to providing an exceptional shopping experience, selected Sensormatic’s inventory intelligence solution to elevate item-level inventory tracking between warehouses and stores, paving the way for seamless omnichannel execution in the future.

Micah Nelson, Director of Product Management at Allbirds, emphasized their dedication to customer satisfaction, stating, “At Allbirds, our priority is our customers, ensuring they have the best possible shopping experience by meeting them where they are and how or when they want to shop. Our collaboration with Sensormatic Solutions and its customer and user-centric applications was a natural choice for this pursuit. Operational accuracy allows us to make decisions, so we focus on what matters most: our shoppers.”

Since the collaboration’s initiation in 2022, Sensormatic Solutions has contributed to the following achievements for Allbirds:

  1. Attainment of up to 99% inventory accuracy in retail stores where solutions have been implemented in the United States.
  2. Reduction of overall in-store inventory through reliable just-in-time supply chain management.

Sensormatic Solutions’ Supply Chain Visibility, a robust RFID cloud-based inventory management system, plays a pivotal role in helping Allbirds achieve these outcomes. This enterprise-wide system facilitates the tracking of product movement from warehouses to stores, optimizing merchandising programs, coordinating short-range deliveries, and supporting associates on the sales floor.

Frank Cho, Vice President and Product General Manager of Inventory Intelligence at Sensormatic Solutions, commended Allbirds for their commitment to retail precision through innovative technology adoption, stating, “Allbirds is a leader in innovation and laser-focused on implementing new technologies for retail precision. Rolling out a major initiative, like this one, is a testament to their commitment to their shoppers and eye towards the future. We are proud to support Allbirds by helping provide inventory accuracy which makes for smoother operations that ultimately benefit the employees and end-consumers.”

Sensormatic Solutions utilizes cutting-edge technologies, including Google Cloud’s BigQuery, to offer item-level inventory visibility, providing an enhanced customer experience and delivering operational insights for Allbirds. As a brand deeply rooted in sustainability, Allbirds, initially a direct-to-consumer establishment in 2014, expanded to its first brick-and-mortar store in 2018.
