NILIT Unveils Strategic Growth Plans, Including Partnership with Shenma in China

NILIT, a renowned global leader in high-performance Nylon 6.6 fibers for the apparel industry and a trailblazer in sustainability, proudly announces a groundbreaking joint venture with Shenma Industry Co., Ltd. (referred to as Shenma), a subsidiary of China Pingmei Shenma Group, a prominent player in the industrial Nylon 6.6 market globally and a key supplier to the automotive industry worldwide. This strategic collaboration signifies a significant expansion of production capacity within China, underscoring NILIT’s steadfast dedication to bolstering the growth of its global clientele and brands. The expansion initiative encompasses a series of investments and partnerships geared towards enhancing production capabilities and delivering cutting-edge solutions to the textile industry.

Ilan Melamed, NILIT Global General Manager, expresses enthusiasm about the venture, stating, “We are thrilled to unveil this new greenfield joint venture in China with Shenma, aimed at introducing state-of-the-art technologies tailored to the local market. This collaboration is poised to manufacture premium specialized products in Fully Drawn Yarns (FDY) and Air Textured Yarns (ATY), renowned for their exceptional strength, smoothness, and softness, respectively, offering superior quality and performance within a highly competitive cost structure. This partnership will unlock new avenues in end uses such as home textiles and the automotive sector, where attributes like strength, smoothness, and durability are paramount.”

The joint venture will include the establishment of a new production site in Pingdingshan, also known as China Nylon City. This facility will be constructed in accordance with NILIT’s stringent Total Product Sustainability (TPS) standards for environmentally responsible production and is projected to achieve a production capacity of 20,000 tons within the next few years.

This strategic alliance harnesses the expertise, resources, and networks of both NILIT and Shenma, two esteemed entities in their respective domains. Leveraging NILIT’s five decades of global experience in producing and marketing high-quality Nylon 6.6 yarns for apparel, coupled with Shenma’s leadership prowess in the Chinese market, the joint venture is poised to penetrate new markets and amplify capabilities across China.

The joint venture agreement was formalized in a ceremony held in Shanghai on April 18th, attended by key leaders from both organizations, including Mr. Li Mao, Chairman of China Pingmei Shenma Group, and Mr. Michael Levi, Chairman of NILIT Group.

This collaborative model underscores the mutual benefits derived from such partnerships, encompassing market access, regulatory navigation, and competitive advantage. It also underscores the market leadership of NILIT’s team in China, led by Shay Kastoriano, NILIT Asia GM, and Shenma as a formidable local partner.

Moreover, in response to the escalating demand for NILIT’s premium products and its commitment to innovation and sustainability, NILIT is expediting plans to double the production capacity at its existing facility in Suzhou SIP. Shenma Industrials will serve as a minority shareholder in this strategic move, aimed at meeting the burgeoning global market demand for NILIT’s products and ensuring the fulfillment of customers’ needs for advanced, innovative, and sustainable materials.
