Florin Filote Appointed as ThredUp’s General Manager for Europe

ThredUp (Nasdaq: TDUP, LTSE: TDUP), a prominent online resale platform for clothing, footwear, and accessories, has announced the appointment of Florin Filote as its General Manager for Europe. With close to twenty years of expertise in retail and e-commerce, particularly in developing and expanding marketplace ventures, Filote will be responsible for overseeing ThredUp’s business operations in Europe, covering nine countries in Central and Eastern Europe. He takes over from Dan DeMeyere, who has been part of ThredUp since 2010 and recently managed the company’s international operations for two years. DeMeyere is now transitioning to the role of Chief Product and Technology Officer in the U.S. to drive technology and artificial intelligence innovation. Both Filote and DeMeyere will report directly to ThredUp CEO and Co-founder James Reinhart.

Before joining ThredUp, Florin Filote held various leadership positions at Pigu Hobby Hall Group, a leading e-commerce company in the Baltics and Finland, including Group Transformational CEO and Interim Chief Revenue Officer. He also spent seven years at eMAG, a major European e-commerce player, leading Marketplace and B2B Sales strategy and execution. Filote’s background encompasses senior leadership roles across modern trade and consumer packaged goods. He has participated in executive programs at Harvard Business School and holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and a Master of Science in Economics from Transylvania University in Romania, as well as a diploma in Informatics from Grigore Moisil College.
