Diane Sullivan, Caleres Executive Chairman, Honored with Two Ten’s Bob Campbell Lifetime Achievement Award

The Two Ten Footwear Foundation has announced that Diane Sullivan, the Executive Chairman of the board at Caleres, will be honored with the 2024 Bob Campbell Lifetime Achievement Award during the upcoming Two Ten annual Gala in June.

Established by the Two Ten Footwear Foundation Board of Directors in 2009, the Bob Campbell Lifetime Achievement Award is named after its inaugural recipient, the late Bob Campbell, an influential figure in the industry and a dedicated advocate for colleagues facing challenges. Awarded once every five years, this prestigious accolade recognizes individuals who exhibit exceptional leadership and profound compassion, reflecting the values embraced by Bob Campbell.

Shawn Osborne, President and CEO of Two Ten Footwear Foundation, expressed anticipation for recognizing Diane’s outstanding career, highlighting her influential role in the industry. Osborne commended Diane’s leadership, interpersonal skills, and successful career, noting her as a role model, particularly for women ascending to executive positions. Diane co-founded Two Ten’s Women in the Footwear Industry (WIFI) community, fostering collaboration and support among women in the industry while building professional networks.

Osborne lauded Diane’s significant social impact in promoting gender parity and her transformative leadership at Caleres, where she cultivated a culture of care, emphasizing the power of people. Diane’s commitment extends beyond her board service, as she has actively contributed to various civic and charitable organizations in the St. Louis metropolitan region and beyond.

Seth Campbell, Corporate President at BBC International, shared his sentiments, emphasizing that Diane’s recognition echoes the values and legacy of his late father, Bob Campbell. He praised Diane’s contributions to the footwear industry, dedication to gender parity, education, and healthcare, asserting her as a fitting recipient of the award.

Diane Sullivan acknowledged the joy of achieving success in business and the opportunity it provides to bring about positive change. She highlighted the commitment of Two Ten board members to uplift the lives of footwear colleagues, offering hope, educational support, and career advancement opportunities, particularly through WIFI.

Under Diane Sullivan’s leadership, Caleres underwent a transformation from a shoe-selling company to a brand-building enterprise, leveraging consumer insights to establish powerful connections. Caleres, with a nearly $3 billion portfolio, encompasses globally recognized footwear brands such as Famous Footwear, Sam Edelman, Allen Edmonds, Naturalizer, and Vionic. Diane joined Caleres in 2004, became Chief Executive Officer in 2011, and assumed the role of Executive Chairman in 2023.

Throughout her career, Diane Sullivan has consistently demonstrated leadership, philanthropic passion, and a significant impact on the footwear industry. Her accolades include regular appearances on influential industry lists, such as the Power 100 List and the Fairchild Media Women in Power List. She received the Icon Award for Social Impact in 2017, was named Person of the Year in 2013 and 2018, and was inducted into the Footwear News Hall of Fame in 2022.

Diane Sullivan’s efforts to achieve gender parity on the Caleres board were recognized by the Women’s Forum of New York, where over 50 percent of the board members are female. She has also contributed to academia as a guest lecturer at prominent universities and served as Executive in Residence at the University of Missouri. Diane currently serves on the boards of Enterprise Mobility, Spanx, and At Home Group, Inc., adding to her extensive experience in consumer products, brand building, and the footwear industry. She holds an MBA from Babson College and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Boston College.
