Collaboration Between JD Sports and TFG to Introduce the JD Brand in South Africa

JD Sports Fashion Plc, a prominent global sports fashion retailer, has announced a significant partnership today. The Group has entered into a franchise agreement with Foschini Retail Group (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of The Foschini Group Limited (TFG), a renowned retailer in South Africa, to introduce the JD brand to the South African market.

The collaboration aims to establish more than 40 JD stores throughout South Africa over the next five years. These stores will carry the JD brand and are slated to commence operations by the end of 2024, pending customary regulatory approvals in South Africa.

This agreement signifies a pivotal step in JD’s global expansion strategy, facilitating its entry into a market with considerable potential for sports fashion.

TFG, with its inception dating back to 1924, brings extensive expertise in sports and fashion retailing.
