Athleta Welcomes Katie Ledecky, the Record-Breaking Female Swimmer, to Join the Power of She Collective

On the inaugural day of Women’s History Month, Athleta proudly unveils a groundbreaking five-year partnership with Katie Ledecky, the world’s most decorated swimmer and a record-breaking athlete.

Ledecky’s collaboration with Athleta is extensive, marking her entry as the latest luminary in the Power of She Collective, a distinguished assembly of elite athletes dedicated to championing Athleta’s mission of empowering women and girls to cultivate confidence, strength, and well-being through movement.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Ledecky stated, “I’ve long admired Athleta for recognizing and authentically supporting female athletes’ individual and collective strengths, and that’s why I’m thrilled to partner with a brand that has values that align with mine. I’m looking forward to being part of something that inspires me on a personal level. Athleta has a history of supporting athletes holistically, which resonates with me. I’m more than my sport, and I know firsthand how harnessing the ethos of Athleta’s Power of She platform can help empower women and girls.”

Athleta’s partnership approach is rooted in purpose and shared values, a philosophy evident in previous collaborations with Allyson Felix in 2019 and Simone Biles in 2021. This strategy extends beyond mere logo placement, aiming to holistically support athletes both within and outside their respective sports. The Power of She Collective, launched in 2023, solidifies Athleta’s commitment to deepening connections with athletes at all stages of their careers. Members of the Collective enjoy unique privileges such as influencing innovative performance products, accessing personal and professional mentorship, and participating in Athleta’s Power of She impact programs.

Current Collective partners include Mariah Bell (Figure Skating), Monique Billings (Basketball), Natalie Coughlin (Swimming), Brenna Huckaby (Paralympic Snowboarding), Jesse “Flex” Labreck (American Ninja Warrior), Jessica Mendoza (Softball), Monica Puig (Tennis), Heather O’Reilly (Soccer), Albane Valenzuela (Golf), Winter Vinecki (Freestyle Aerial Skiing), and Katie Zaferes (Triathlon), alongside Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast of all time with a combined 37 World and Olympic medals.

Chris Blakeslee, president and CEO of Athleta, expressed the brand’s commitment to authentic partnerships with exceptional women who not only excel in their sports but also share the brand’s dedication to inspiring women and girls through movement. He remarked, “Passionate about philanthropy and a leading role model for girls, Katie is the perfect addition to the Athleta Power of She Collective family, and we’re thrilled to support her efforts to expand youth access to sports.”

During the tenure of her partnership, Ledecky will serve as an advisor to Athleta’s impact platform, The Power of She Fund, which supports organizations aligned with the brand’s mission. Additionally, she will engage in product wear testing to enhance performance across Athleta’s range, proudly donning Athleta as her preferred performance apparel brand beyond the pool, and featuring prominently in key Athleta campaigns.
